Other Facilities: Vet Clinic

The Fort Polk Vet clinic is proud to serve the Fort Polk community by offereing routine care and minor sick call appointments. We do not, however, offer emergency services, except for stabilization purposes during our business hours. Please establish a relationship with a vet off post for such services.  Local pet service facilities are listed here.

We do not see walk-ins. All vaccines must be scheduled appointments. Children 12 and under should be supervisored at all times and daycare must be arranged for scheduled appointments.

Keep your pet healthy with regular check ups and heartworm and flea medicine. Fort Polk is in an area with a high number of heartworm incidents. Heartworm preventative is mandatory on Fort Polk.

All lost pets found on Fort Polk are taken to the vet clinic's stray animal facility. Be sure to check with the vet clinic if you have lost your pet. The clinic also offers adoptions. Before you spend hundreds of dollars on a pet, stop by and check out all our animal orphans. Lost pets unchipped, and not claimed after three business days will be put up for adoption.

If you find a lost pet please call animal control at 337-531-5222 or the MP's at 337-531-COPS(2677).
