Whether you're a novice or expert, the Fort Polk Arts and Crafts Center staff can help you uncover or enhance your artistic talents. The Center offers a variety of classes and a well-stocked resale shop available to all authorized MWR users. Class size is usually limited so instructors are able to work with students on a one-on-one basis. Once a class is taken, a certification card is issued which allows use of the facility and tools.
Times and schedules vary, but group and individual instruction is typically offered in matting & framing, ceramics, papertole, florgal design, linoleum & woodcut relief printing, mono and block printing, paste paper (used for scrapbooking) printing, kid's classes, woodworking, and seasonal craft classes. If you are unable to attend one of our scheduled classes, just give us a call. If we can accomodate you at your convenience we would be happy to do so.
We also offer services in custom framing, sublimation, engraving, silk flower arrangements and canvas stretching. Our center also houses a portrait studio. Let us be your headquarters for Farewell and Unit gifts, awards, and memorabilia.
We also give patrons the opportunity to participate in a yearly Arts & Crafts and Photography Contest. The "Fort Polk" level winners have the opportunity to compete all the way to the "All Army" level. At the "All Army" level, significant monetary prizes will be awarded to the winners.
In addition, the Arts & Crafts Center offers a photo studio, cVc Foto, for portraits or events.
There is a $2 user fee associated with use of the facility.
