December 8, 2011: Prescribed Burn
NRMB will conduct a prescribed burn, today, in Compartment 26; located in Six Mile Creek 5 training area. The area to be burned is south of Six Mile Creek Rd and north of Ft. Polk/USFS boundary. Burning will be from 1100 - 1700 hrs. Winds are SE at 5 mph. So, if you notice smoke in your neighborhood, it's likely that it's from this prescribed burn.
December 6, 2011: Cantrell Fitness Center Closure/ Sunday Brunch
Cantrell Fitness Center will close for renovations from January 1, 2012 until January 1, 2013. Some improvements will be done to the roofing, heating and cooling systems, hot water systems, retaining walls, and painting. For more information click here.

November 23, 2011: Thanksgiving Day Holiday Hours
Thanksgiving Day holiday hours for MWR facilities can be found here. Keep in mind that although several of our facilities will be closed Thursday and open for normal business hours on Friday, a few will be closed Friday as well.
October 28, 2011: Pool Opens Early!
We are pleased to announce that the 50 Meter Pool will re-open this Saturday, October 29th for regular winter hours (12:00pm-7:00pm Saturday and Sunday. All other hours posted below). For any additional questions, call 531-1988.

For those of you who have been patiently awaiting the Fort Polk Motocross page, it is finally finished! Check it out for information on our Motocross track in North Fort!
October 5, 2011: Gate Hour Adjustments
The entrance/exit gates to Fort Polk have made some adjustments to their hours. As of October 1, four gates will operate under new hours. Click here for details.
October 5, 2011: Gretchen Wilson
Unfortunately, Gretchen Wilson will not be coming to Fort Polk in concert this year. She had personal scheduling problems as well. Hate to bear the bad news, but the good news is that MWR is working diligently to provide a variety of entertainment for our military Soldiers and Families, including Big 'N Rich on October 20 and Soldier Show on November 2. Any other news will be posted here as received, as well as on Twitter and Facebook.
October 4, 2011: What's up with NeYo?
We have been receiving many questions about the NeYo concert that was rumored to be scheduled here at Fort Polk. Unfortunately, due to touring complications, NeYo chose not to schedule a concert date here.
